The Park Board is hiring certified lifeguards

Lifeguard training is offered for anyone ages 15 and older who is interested in becoming an American Red Cross Lifeguard. Emphasis is on earning certifications for American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED Essentials, Preventing Disease Transmission and Water Park Lifeguarding. Additionally, students participate in training in customer service, lifeguard skills, conflict resolution and conditioning, as well as complete swimming assignments and lifeguard skills tests. FREE Lifeguard Intro Class

The Lifeguard Intro Classes are FREE and will provide participants the opportunity to practice lifeguard prerequisites, receive coaching for skill improvement, and learn about Park Board Aquatic Job Opportunities. All courses will be 1 hour in length and held at Doling Family Center Pool. Already certified? Apply at ParkBoard.org/Jobs.

Aquatic Programs

  1. Coronavirus Update
    Starting March 17, all aquatics classes, programs and activities are canceled for eight weeks including, but not limited to, Family Learn to Swim, Mommy & Me, Homeschool Program, water aerobics, Stingrays swim team, and the Floating Easter Egg Hunt.   2. Family Learn to Swim


    Designed to accommodate all ages from 6 months through Level 2 skills. This program focuses on swimming skills and water safety. Each class takes place twice a week for three weeks. Registration must be received no later than the Friday before the session begins by 12 p.m. (noon). Cancellations may be made at that time if there is low enrollment.

  3. Mommy & Me


    In-pool instruction for children six months to three years, and a parent, in the water. Six-week sessions teach a variety of pre-swimming fundamentals.

  4. Homeschool Program


    Aquatics class for home school students ages 5-14. For physical education credit or just to have fun and improve swimming skills.  A great social networking opportunity! Registrations must be received no later than the Friday before the session begins by 12 p.m. (noon). Cancellations will be made at that time if there is low enrollment.

Private Swimming Lesson Packages


Half-hour sessions of private swim lessons with an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor . For all ages and all swimming abilities. Due to limited availability, placements will be made on a case-by-case basis and in order of submission.

Semi-Private Swimming Lesson Packages

Little Splashers

A designated time for children 5 and under, accompanied by an adult in the water. Pool features are turned off, but upon request, the small spray features will be turned on for little ones to enjoy.

Water Aerobics
