The Rain Garden is a living mechanism of the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center. Located on the southeast corner of the building, the rain garden collects the excess rain run-of from the roof and parking lot to slow it down and clean the water through root filtration before the rain water enters South Creek.
The art of selective planting and thinning creates the illusion of a natural wetland that is decorated with a statue of ducks emerging from the reeds.
Ideal for an eco-conscious supporter aligned with the LEED-certified building landscape, the sponsorship funding will help with the prescribed fi res, removal of plants with extensive root systems and renewal plantings to keep this highly visible, and wild garden fanciful and functional
